Configuring Policies for SSH
Before running a discovery of SSH keys on host machines, you should first create and configure an SSH policy that can help to organize discovered SSH assets. The policy can also let you define information about discovered assets that you want to see.
The way you structure your folders depends on your environment. You should become familiar with policy structure best practices.
For more information, see Policy structure examplesVenafi Trust Protection Platform Administration Guide.
EXAMPLE Suppose you chose to use an organization policy structure. After running a network discovery, you find that you have five host computers: A, B, C, D, and E.
The first three servers—A, B, and C—are located in Europe and Asia. Servers D and E are located in the Americas.
In Policy Tree, you would create a new policy folder for each of the regions, Europe, Asia, and Americas.
When SSH discovery is run, SSH assets discovered are placed in policies at that time.
