Policy Tree's detail view buttons

Many of the configuration pages that display in the Detail View include buttons that allow you to perform additional tasks associated with the object selected in the tree view. The buttons available on each page vary depending on the object selected in the tree view and the tab selected in the Detail View.

The Summary tab for a certificate is displayed in the Detail View. The tab includes the following buttons:

  • Restart
  • Retry
  • Print
  • Refresh

The following table reviews all the buttons that appear on the various configuration pages in the Detail View when you select objects in the tree view. Not all of these buttons appear on every page.

Web Console—Buttons Available in the Detail View

Button

Description

Add

Adds new entries to the current page in the Detail View. This button is available on the following tabs:

  • Permissions—Available with any object you select in the tree view. Allows you to assign user and group permissions to the selected object.
  • Associations—Available with a selected Certificate object in the Policy tree. Allows you to associate new applications with the selected Certificate object.

 

Approve

Approves the selected pending request.

This button is available only on the Pending Request tab, which is accessible from the Approvals tree.

Delete

Deletes the selected objects from the current Detail View page. This button is available on the following tabs:

  • Permissions—Available with any object you select in the tree view. Allows you to unassign user and group permissions from the selected object.
  • Associations—Available with a selected Certificate object in the Policy tree. Allows you to delete applications associated with the selected Certificate object.

 

Download

Allows you to download certificates.

This button is available only on the Certificate tab, which can be accessed when a Certificate object is selected in the Policy tree.

Enable

Toggles between enabling and disabling the processing of certificates in the selected Application objects.

Disable

This button is available on the Associations tab, which can be accessed when a Certificate object is selected in the Policy tree.

Export

Exports the data displayed in the current Detail View to a CSV, tab-delimited, HTML, or XML file. This button is available on the following tabs:

  • Permissions—Available with all objects in every management tree. Exports users and groups and the permissions assigned to each user and group.
  • Log—Available with objects in the Policy, Discovery, and Reports tree. Exports a list of all events triggered by the current object.
  • All Certificates—Available when you select a Policy object in the Policy tree. Exports a list of the policy’s subordinate certificates. For more information, see Opening the certificate inventory in the Venafi Trust Protection Platform Certificate Management Guide.
  • Associations—Available when you select a Certificate object in the Policy tree. Exports a list of all the applications the current certificate is installed on. For more information, see Associating certificates with applications in the Venafi Trust Protection Platform Certificate Management Guide.
  • History—Available when you select a Certificate object in the Policy tree. Exports the common name, serial number, issuer, and valid dates for each edition of the certificate associated with the current Certificate object.   • All Roots—Available when you select a Root object in the Roots tree. Exports a list of all archived root and intermediate root certificates in context of their signature chain.   • Requests—Available in the Workflow tree. Exports a list of the current user’s approved, pending, or rejected requests. For more information, see About workflows in the Venafi Trust Protection Platform Certificate Management Guide.
  • Plugins—Available when you select the Root Configuration object in the Configuration tree. Exports a list of all Trust Protection Platform plug-ins.
  • Users & Groups—Available when you select the Local or an Active Directory Connection object in the Identity tree. Exports a list of all users and groups in the current user directory. For more information, see Working with identities, permissions, and teams.
  • Group Members—Available when you select a Group object in a user directory. Exports a list of all members of the current group. For more information, see Working with identities, permissions, and teams.
  • User Entitlements—Available when you select a User object in a user directory. Exports a list of the objects the current user has been granted explicit permissions to. For more information, see About viewing user entitlements.
  • Identity Mapping Table—Available when you select the Local or an Active Directory Connection object in the Identity tree. Exports the attribute mapping rules defined for the current user directory. For more information, see Defining mapping rules for Local user and group attributes—Mapping Table tab.
  • Discovery Results—Available when you select a Discovery object in the Discovery tree. Exports a list of all certificates discovered on the IPv4 addresses and ports defined in the current Discovery object. For more information, see or .

Extract

Extracts the certificate and private key installed on the selected Application objects.

Trust Protection Platform compares the extracted certificate and private key with the current certificate. If there is a mismatch, Trust Protection Platform asks if you want to overwrite the current certificate and private key.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Associations tab.

Include
Sub-folders

Displays the certificates of the current policy only or all certificates below the current policy, including those in subfolders.

This button is available only on the selected Policy object’s All Certificates tab.

Import

Allows you to import existing certificates from the local machine or a server on the network.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Certificate tab.

Move Down

Moves the selected plug-in down in priority.

This button is available only on the Plugins tab, which can be accessed from the Configuration tree.

Move Up

Moves the selected plug-in up in priority.

This button is available only on the Plugins tab, which can be accessed from the Configuration tree.

Print

Prints the contents of the current Detail View.

This button is available on many pages in the Detail View.

 

Push

Pushes the current certificate and private key to the selected application.

IMPORTANT  If the certificate and private key already exist on the target server, the push operation replaces the existing certificate and private key.

Trust Protection Platform does not process a push operation unless the following conditions are met:

  • The certificate is available in the Trust Protection Platform database
  • The certificate’s management type is Provisioning
  • The certificate is not currently being processed
  • This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Associations tab.

Refresh

Refreshes the contents of the current page or tree. When you click Refresh, any data cached on the server for the current page or tree is also cleared or reset. Additionally, the user's permissions are reloaded and refreshed on all trees and on the Permissions tab.

This button is available on most pages in the Detail View.

Reject

Rejects the selected pending request.

This button is available only on the Pending Requests tab, which is accessible in the Approval tree.

Renew Now

Queues the certificate for renewal.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Settings tab.

Reset

Clears errors and stages on the certificate and its associated applications, then stops processing.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Summary tab.

Restart

Clears all errors and stages on the certificate and its associated application(s), then restarts processing from the beginning. Each stage is retried.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Summary tab.

Retry

Clears the certificate error, then retries the last processing stage.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Summary tab.

Retry Installation

Reattempts to install the certificate on the associated application’s server.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Associations tab.

Revoke

Submits a revocation request to the certificate CA.

This button is available only on the selected Certificate object’s Summary and History tabs.

Show
Intermediate
Root Certificates

Displays either root certificates only or all intermediate root certificates as well.

This button is available only on the selected Root object’s All Roots tab.
