About importing existing certificates

You may want to bring a certificate that wasn't issued by Trust Protection Platform on board. You can create a placeholder certificate in TLS Protect and then import the existing certificate from your server so that you have a current instance of it.

The advantages of importing a certificate include the following:

• Ability to monitor it for expiration
• Validation that it is meeting policy and audit requirements
• Use of daily validation to ensure the certificate is installed in the correct location

• Making renewal of the certificate easier when the expiration date is near
