Deleting a CodeSign Protect Project

Master Administrators and Code Signing Administrators have the ability to delete Projects. In addition, Project Owners can delete Projects that they own.

WARNING!  Deleting a Project deletes everything associated with the Project, including all Environments and their associated keys and certificates. These can be recovered from the recycle bin. Once purged from the recycle bin, these items are no longer recoverable.

Understanding Change Management Flows

CodeSign Protect enforces a Change Management Flow for every Project and Environment deletion request it receives. The default Flow doesn't require any approvals for a deletion request to be fulfilled. If the Code Signing Administrator has applied a Flow that requires approvals, the necessary approver or approvers will be notified after you submit your deletion request.

If an approval Flow is in place, the Project will remain in the Project list in a Queued for Deletion state. In this state, the project is unusable and not editable. If all required approvals are given, then the project will be deleted and removed from the list.

If one of the required approvers rejects the deletion request, the Project is placed in a Disabled state. In this state, the Project and its associated keys and certificates remain, but they can't be used. If the Project is set to the Enabled state, then the Project and Environments can be used again.

To learn more about configuring Change Management Flows, see Create Flows.

Submitting a project deletion request

  1. In the CodeSign Protect toolbar, click Projects.

  2. Click the Row Actions button for the Project you want to delete, and then click Delete.

After submitting the request, the approval notifications will be sent.

Approving or Rejecting a Project deletion request

If you are an approver on a project deletion request, follow these steps to review the request, and then either approve or reject the deletion.

  1. In the CodeSign Protect toolbar, click Approvals > Pending Approvals.

  2. Find the Delete Project request in the Pending Approvals list. Click the timestamp in the Requested On column. This opens the Project Deletion Request modal, which allows you to review the request.

  3. Review the request details, and then either Approve or Reject the request. If you reject the request, the Project is placed in the Disabled state, and the approval requests are removed from all approvers' Pending Approvals lists.
