SSH trends widget
The SSH Trends widget provides a burn-down chart view that can help you to easily identify trends in your SSH management.
NOTE Widgets require some historical data in order to provide value. For example, the Trends widget cannot provide trending data about private key orphans until orphans have been found and tracked for at least a few days.
When the agent checks in with Trust Protection Platform with changes to report, the graph is updated when any changes have been discovered by the agent.
The Trends widget lets you track the following key indicators:
Trend |
Description |
Orphans |
Shows the increase or decrease of orphaned keys. |
Non-Compliant Hosts |
Servers containing authorized keys that are not in compliance with a defined policy. A single, non-compliant SSH key could open the door to unauthorized access to your server. |
Non-Compliant Keys |
|
Agents |
Shows the number of agents that are authenticating and reporting into Trust Protection Platform. |
Duplicate Private Keys |
Indicates the number of allowed and not allowed private keys, and the number of private keys per user. |
Policy Violations |
Shows violations of policies that you have defined. For example, Trust Protection Platform detects keys that are not of the type you specified in a policy; or keys that exceed a validity period (old keys) specified in your policy. |
Key Lengths |
Lets you track progress in increasing key lengths to meet your policy. For example, you might be replacing 768 bit keys with 2048 bit keys. The Trend graph quickly reveals your progress toward meeting that policy. |
Algorithms |
Quickly see your progress in meeting algorithm policies by removing those that don't meet the criteria of your policy (for example, removing RSA and replacing with RSA1). |
Vendor Formats |
Identifies the use of various vendors over time (OpenSSH, Tectia, and PuTTY) to help you meet your vendor policies. For example, you might have decided to support OpenSSH and to remove your dependencies on Tectia. This graph can quickly show your progress by revealing the number of instances of each over a period of weeks. |
