Managing application objects

Application objects represent the server platforms or keystores where Venafi Trust Protection Platform™ manages certificates and private keys. Depending on the level of certificate management configured on the certificate—Monitoring, Enrollment, or Provisioning—Trust Protection Platform can request, enroll, renew, install, and validate the certificate or perform key management functions on the Application object’s associated platform or keystore.

The following sections provide the information you need to create and manage Application objects using Policy Tree. In Aperture, you can create the same objects by adding one or more installations to a certificate. For more information, see Working with certificate installations.
