PEM configuration
Privacy-enhanced Electronic Mail (PEM) is a standard originally used for distributing X.509 certificates in plain text via e-mail using Base64 encoding of DER certificates. Originally used for encrypting the contents of e-mail, the PEM format is now used by many applications. The Venafi Trust Protection Platform™ PEM driver supports management of PEM files.
In Trust Protection Platform, the PEM application object is used to provision PEM certificates and can provision the end-entity, chain, and as of Trust Protection Platform version 18.3, private key to a single file (rather than two or three separate files).
This section provides the information you need to manage PEM files.
NOTE For information about the trust store, see About creating and configuring trust stores.
