SMTP channel
The SMTP channel delivers logging data to email through an SMTP server.
To send notifications using an SMTP channel, administrators can do any of the following:
- Use the built-in SMTP channels. These channels already have notification rules associated with them and will start working as soon as an outgoing SMTP server is configured.
- Edit the built-in SMTP channels. You can edit them directly, or duplicate them and modify the copies.
- Create new SMTP channels. You can configure notification rules to point to new SMTP channels you create. Once your new SMTP channels have been configured, see Working with notification rules.
