Managing certificate notifications

In addition to cataloging and monitoring your organization’s certificates, Venafi Trust Protection Platform™ can notify key contacts or other individuals prior to the expiration date of the certificate. If a certificate is not renewed in a timely manner—15 days prior to expiration, for instance—escalation notifications can be sent to other individuals to ensure the certificate is renewed before it expires.

Notification messages can be relayed to key custodians using SMTP or SNMP traps and, for audit purposes, they can be logged to an MS SQL database as well as an individual log file. Implementing Trust Protection Platform notifications as part of your certificate management strategy facilitates effective certificate management and provides an audit trail for the implementation of corporate security folders.
