About Permissions and Inheritance

Security of encryption assets in Trust Protection Platform is handled from a least-permissions perspective, which means that by default you have access to no assets, and you need to be granted rights to view, modify, or remove any assets. If an asset, or one of its parent objects in the folder structure (Aperture) or policy tree (Policy Tree), doesn't grant you permissions to an object, you won't be able to see that the object even exists.

The topics in this section address how permissions and inheritance work. Understanding permissions and inheritance is a key concept for understanding how Trust Protection Platform works.
