Installing (provisioning) lots of certificates and keys at one time

If you need to provision a large number of certificates and keys to multiple devices, you can create a Bulk Provisioning job in Aperture and either run it manually, or according to a defined schedule.

When you configure your Bulk Provisioning job, you specify one or more source folders where you'll place your certificates and keys to be provisioned. When the job is run, it checks the folder and provisions certificates and keys found there to one or more devices and folders you specified in the job settings.

Bulk Provisioning jobs that have run successfully are triggered automatically when new certificates appear in the source folders you've specified in the jobs settings. This is also true when existing certificates are imported with their private keys.

Bulk Provisioning is designed to minimize device connections and sessions so that all of your certificates are installed on your devices, and is done as rapidly as possible. But you can also manage the number of certificates provisioned during each provisioning operation using the Default Batch Setting when you configure your Bulk Provisioning job (from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 1000 certificates).

You can easily view the status of jobs to see the results each time a job is run. You can then see the number of certificates and keys that were provisioned. Using the Trust Protection Platform log, you can review any errors that might have occurred so you can resolve them.

This section shows you how to create, run, and manage your Bulk Provisioning jobs.
