Effective: July 1, 2019 (v19.2)

When you use Venafi Products and services, we know you are trusting us with your information. We understand that this is a big responsibility and work hard to protect your information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use this information. It also describes what controls are available to you and how you can request that your information be deleted and not tracked any more.

Types of information we collect

We collect information to provide better products and services to you, our customer, including retrieving diagnostic and performance information to improve product stability and scalability.

Your installation of Venafi Trust Protection Platform

We collect non personally-identifiable information about your deployment of Venafi Trust Protection Platform. Information like the version history of your deployment, the operating system it is installed on, the SQL Server version used to host the database. We also collect information on the products that are installed/enabled on the platform as well as the license levels consumed. Other items we collect include your Organization name, the type of deployment, the number of Venafi servers deployed, and which features are and are not being used.

How we use the information we collect

We use data to build better products and services to do the following things.

Provide our services

We use non personally-identifiable information to enhance our products and services, like providing notifications of newly available patches and major releases or providing in-app contextual help on new features.

Maintain & improve our services

We also use non personally-identifiable information to ensure our products and services are working as intended, such as tracking platform instability, troubleshooting issues, and making improvements to our products in future releases (such as improving navigation in the product or simplifying the process for requesting a certificate).

Measure performance

We use non personally-identifiable aggregate data for analytics and measurements to understand how our products and services are used. For example, we may analyze data about the performance for dashboard load times, inventory list load times, or how long it takes to perform a network discovery job. This information helps us know where we need to invest in making the product faster and more scalable.
