Assigning permissions to an object
To assign or modify permissions, your own account must have the View, Admin, and Write permissions for the target object.
To assign permissions to a user or group
- In the web console, navigate to the specific object or folder you want to grant access to.
- Open the object and select the Permissions tab.
- Click Add.
- In the search field, type the name of the user or group you want to grant access to, and click the Search icon to retrieve the identity from your connected directories.
- Select the user or group from the results to add them to the permissions list.
- In the permissions list, select the checkboxes for the specific rights you want to grant this identity. Common permissions include:
- View: The user can see that the object exists in the tree.
- Read: The user can view the object's attributes and details.
- Write: The user can edit and modify the object's attributes.
- Create: The user can create new subordinate objects within this folder.
- Delete: The user can delete the object.
- Click Save (or Apply) to apply the new permissions.
