Creating a new user credential for certificate installations

When automatically installing certificates onto devices, there are two technology options: agent or agentless. The agent method uses the Venafi Server Agent while the agentless method relies on the Venafi Trust Protection Platform either having the credentials to authenticate to the system, or access to the credentials on a password management system, like CyberArk

Create a new user credential (Certificate Details)

  1. From the TLS Protect menu bar, click Inventory, and then click Certificates.
  2. Open a certificate details page by clicking on a certificate name, and then click Installations.
  3. Click the Edit quick action for one of the installations.

There are several places in the Installation Settings window that request credentials.

  4. For any credential field click Create New Credential.

The following image shows an example of the Installation Settings window for an Amazon installation. The fields displayed vary depending on the installation type.
