Preparing the database server

Trust Protection Platform requires a database to store system configuration information, archive certificates and private keys, and secure sensitive data. For database server requirements, see System requirements for Venafi components.

Before you install Trust Protection Platform, you must do the following:

  1. Create the database service accounts, create the database, and then assign the correct grants.

For more information see Setting up your Microsoft SQL database server.

  2. If you're using Windows integrated authentication, configure the necessary permissions for both database service accounts on each Venafi server.

For more information, see Windows permissions for database service accounts.

If you plan to use Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSAs), see Using Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSAs).
