About CSR-supported formats

Trust Protection Platform supports the PKCS#10 CSR format. There are only a few CAs which support the CMC format, which is typically used for the special case of key archival. The CMC format provides a mechanism for the request to encrypt and pass a private key as part of a certificate's signing request. PKCS#10 CSR does not have that capability.
