Approving or rejecting changes to CodeSign Protect Environments
CodeSign Protect enforces a Change Management Flow anytime an Environment is created, updated, or deleted. The default Flow doesn't require any approvals for these requests to be fulfilled. In the case where the Code Signing Administrator has applied a Flow that requires approvals, the necessary approver or approvers will see the request in their Approvals > Pending Approvals list.
NOTE Change management flows must be created and assigned before Environment approvals can take place. If they aren't set up yet, then the Code Signing Administrator needs to start with these steps:
-
Create one or more Change Management flows.
-
Assign those Flows in the CodeSign Protect global properties.
Submitting an Environment change request
Typically, Project Owners submit changes to add new, update, or delete Environments in their Projects. If the Change Management Flow assigned to the change has an approval step, then the approvers will see the request in their Approvals > Pending Approvals.
Approving or rejecting pending changes
If you are an approver on an Environment change request, follow these steps to review the request, and then either approve or reject the change.
-
In the CodeSign Protect toolbar, click Approvals > Pending Approvals.
-
Find the request in the Pending Approvals list. Click the timestamp in the Requested On column. This opens the request modal, which allows you to review the request.
-
Review the request details, and then either Approve or Reject the request. If you reject the request, you are required to enter reason for the rejection in the Comment field.
