Creating, saving, and modifying inventory filters

NOTE  This topic refers to the new inventory introduced on the API Integrations inventory in 22.2. Other inventories will eventually be migrated to this new style.

You don't always have to start browsing for items from scratch. You can create a filter that helps you find the items that you are interested in, and you can save that filter.

If you have a saved filter, you can make it your default filter, which will load each time you open the page.

For example, if you are looking at a list of certificates, your default filter might be "All Certificates."

To create a filter

  1. Use the Filters button to narrow the list using criteria you will define below.

  2. For each filter criteria, select the column, the operator, and the filter value.

  3. [Optional] To add additional filter criteria, use the Add Filter button, and choose the operator (either AND or OR).

  4. [Optional] To remove a criteria row, click the X icon on the left.

  5. The filter applies as you update the criteria, helping you know if your criteria are producing the result you expect.

The Filters button shows a bubble showing the number of criteria currently being used to filter the inventory.

To save a filter

  1. Create the filter as described in the previous section.

  2. Click Save Filter.

  3. Enter a name for the filter.

  4. If you want this to be the default filter that is used when the inventory loads, check the box.

  5. Click Save.

To change your default filter

  1. On the filter bar, click the saved filter drop-down. (This is the button to the right of the search filter box. It's name is whatever saved filter is being used.)

For example, if you are filtering certificates, the default saved filter is probably "All Certificates", so click that drop-down.

  2. Click Manage Filters.

In the Manage Filters window, the filters at the top of the list are default and can't be changed. The filters you have saved are listed in the My Filters group.

  3. On the list of filters, click the flag icon next to the new default.

  4. Click Save.

The next time you load the list, your default filter will be applied automatically.

To delete a saved filter

  1. On the filter bar, click the saved filter drop-down.

For example, if you are filtering SSH keys, the default saved filter is probably "All Keys", so click that drop-down.

  2. Click Manage Filters.

In the Manage Filters window, the filters at the top of the list are default and can't be deleted. You can only delete the filters in the My Filters group.

  3. Click the trash icon next to the filter or filters you want to delete.

NOTE  The filter will show Pending Deletion. If you were to click Cancel the filter would not be deleted.

  4. Click Save.
