Managing SSH approval requests
Approvers can manage their assigned SSH Approval Requests in SSH Protect.
To approve or reject a pending SSH Approval Request
-
From the SSH Protect menu, click Dashboards > SSH Dashboard.
TIP You can also open the SSH inventory, and use the Pending Approval status filter and check the Show only my approvals box, then skip the next step.
-
In the Key Totals widget, locate the Pending My Approval section.
If there are items you can approve, the Pending My Approval section will have a number greater than 0. Click the number to view those keysets that are pending your approval.
NOTE If there are no items you can approve, the Pending My approval section will show 0.
When you click the number, you are taken to the SSH inventory, with a filter applied that shows you items needing your approval.
- Click the keyset identifier to open the keyset that requires approvals.
-
Take action on the approval request using one of the following methods:
- Use the link in the banner to open the items that are pending approval, and then click the Approve or Reject buttons next to the key request needing approval.
- Locate the items that are pending approval on either of the key tabs, and then click the Approve or Reject buttons.
-
If you click Approve, you have two options:
- Approve. If you want to simply approve the request without logging additional comments tied to the approval, you can simply click Approve.
- Approve with comments. If you want to log additional comments regarding your reasons for approval, you can click Approve with Comments. Your comments will be saved in the log.
- If you click Reject, you must provide comments on the reason you are rejecting the request. Your comments will be saved in the log.
