About Venafi Trust Protection Platform administration consoles

Venafi Trust Protection Platform™ provides three consoles:

  • A web-based console that can be launched by connecting to the Venafi server using a browser. This web console provides two experiences (during our multi-year effort to unify into a single modern console):
    • OneVenafi - this is the modernized experience that used to be called Aperture. Most activities (including non-admin activities) are part of this experience.
    • Policy Tree - this is the classic experience that used to be called WebAdmin. This experience is gradually being retired as features are moved to the OneVenafi experience. Most of the features in this experience are configuration and administrative activities.
  • Venafi Configuration Console (VCC): A powerful MMC snap-in console that allows you to administer the settings of the Venafi Platform installation, as well as work with CodeSign Protect and the Venafi Event Viewer. VCC allows you to control Venafi services, enable product components, configure database settings, control identity access including LDAP, AD, and SSO.

  • WinAdmin: A Windows-based console that runs locally on the Trust Protection Platform server. Most features from WinAdmin have been moved to the web consoles or to Venafi Configuration Console.

Customer Experience Improvement Project

When you install Venafi Trust Protection Platform, certain telemetry data is collected. This information is used for license compliance, and allows us to collect non-personally identifiable information about how you use the product. In return, you receive push notifications of important events (like software upgrade availability), as well as enhanced in-product help. Venafi uses the data collected through this feature to make product road map decisions.

For more information see the Venafi Data Privacy Policy for Venafi Trust Protection Platform™.
