Viewing log events

Code Sign Manager log events are available in Events, which is available in Trust Protection Foundation Configuration Console and also as part of the MMC Snap-in collection. The advantage to using the MMC Snap-in collection is that you don't have be signed in to your Trust Protection Foundation server.

To begin, follow the instructions to install the MMC Snap-in collection. To view log events, you'll need to add the Events snap-in.

After the Events snap-in is added to MMC, follow these steps to create a custom view for code signing.

  1. In the navigation panel of the MMC, expand Events > Custom Views.

  2. Click Create Custom View in the Actions pane on the right.

  3. Select your desired parameters in Logged and Event level.

  4. In the Event sources list, select the checkbox next to Code Signing to view all code signing events. If you want to be more specific, expand Code Signing, and select specific events.

  5. Click OK.

DID YOU KNOW?  After you create this view, you can export it and share it with other users. Click Export Views in the Actions panel. to export the view as a json file. You can then send this json file to other users, and they can use Import Views to import it.

  6. Give this custom view a Name and Description. Select where you want to store the view.

  7. Click OK.

The requested log events show in the table at the top of the MMC data panel. Click any row in the table to open that event's details.

The Events documentation contains more information about what you can do with this snap-in.
